Leep Procedure
A LEEP procedure is for Paps normally worse than ASCUS caused by HPV, a virus which can cause a urinary infection.
This treatment process is mostly done for moderate or severe dysplasia. It takes about 3-4 weeks for the cervix to heal after this process, in which women are instructed to refrain from intercourse, douching, and using tampons. They will have a follow-up exam about 4-6 weeks afterwards.

The loop eletrosurgical excision process is a surgical treatment for cervical dysplasia where a wire, with electricity running through it, is used to cut away areas of abnormal cells on the cervix.
